A historic piece of leeds

For two centuries, Thwaite Mills has sat quietly on the canal - one of the best-preserved working watermills in Britain, saved once before by the community that loved it. Since closing its doors in 2024, it's been waiting for its next chapter. Now, under new custodians, that chapter is finally being written.

With plans for the museum to reopen and hopes for community events, a new pub and cafe on their way and the canal-side grounds are being brought back to life for gathering, eating and simply being outside together. It's not a big reveal - it's a restoration happening in the open, and you're invited to be part of it from the very start.
